What is Canine Sports Medicine? Canine sports medicine and rehabilitation is one of the newest specialties in veterinary medicine. It integrates multiple fields of veterinary medicine such as orthopedics, exercise physiology, neurology, cardiology, pulmonology, and nutrition, among others. 

A large portion of sports medicine is dedicated to rehabilitation, as it is critical to this specialty. Rehabilitation encompasses conditioning, maintaining, and regaining fitness of both canine athletes and working dogs.
