At Fusion Veterinary Orthopedics, we believe that being on the forefront of technology is necessary to deliver optimal care. That’s why we invest in sophisticated tools like advanced imaging, 3D printing, and virtual surgical planning—enabling us to truly elevate patient care and improve outcomes.
Notably, we have the only 16-slice mobile CT for veterinary use in the United States. This mobile unit enables us to perform CT imaging anyplace in the hospital it’s needed, rather than having to move patients to a stationary CT scanner. It also allows for less radiation exposure to our patients and our team. In addition, we use fluoroscopy to perform real-time imaging during surgery, ensuring precise and accurate implant placement.
For certain conditions such as angular limb deformities and fracture corrections, we may use 3D reconstructions of a patient’s leg along with specialized software to virtually plan the surgical procedure and practice the alignment before stepping into the operating room. In addition to 3D printing the patient’s leg, we can also print patient-specific cutting guides, reduction guides, and/or implants.
Advances like these, combined with the skill and reputation of Dr. Dycus, are why many of our patients travel to Fusion from out of state—there are only a few veterinary surgeons in the world who possess the skill, knowledge, and commitment to excellence at this level.
